Voice_over_IP

Nowadays, a lot has been said and written about digital telephony (also known as VoIP or Internet telephony). Almost daily new products appear on the market which make use of telephony through an Internet connection. Approximately 50% of all households, whether they are aware of it or not, uses telephony through an Internet connection. With Voice over IP or VoIP the Internet or another IP-network will be used to transport voice and therefor a traditional telephone line is not necessary anymore. In this way the possibility arose to combine the before separated worlds of voice and data.

How does VoIP work:

VoIP is short for Voice Over Internet Protocol. This means in general terms sending and receiving someones voice through an Internet connection. VoIP is also known as "digital telephony" and most providers use this term when they are talking about telephony with use of your Internet connection. Digital telephony, or voice calls via Internet, is exactly what voip2the term says: a call that is transported via the Internet based on TCP / IP protocol, which is the language of all Internet applications. Spoken words are transformed into a digital signal. The digital signals are delivered to the recipient in an appropriate form so that the recipient can hear the words. In well known computer programs such as Skype, Google Talk and Gizmo Project, all conversations are transported via the public Internet. That makes the connections more susceptible for intrusion. If you make calls via your Tooway Internet connection, calls are transported via a secured, reserved part of the Internet, which creates high quality calls.

The six advantages of VoIP:

Making use of VoIP has a number of advantages. Flexibility and cost-saving are seen as the most important advantages. More information about the advantages of VoIP can be read below in 'The six advantages of VoIP':

1. VoIP is location independent
You work in another building for 3 months? You will move houses? You have a second home abroad? With VoIP it is no problem at all! A Voip account is linked to a telephone or PBX, not to a geographic location.

2. VoIP is flexible
You can easily connect your telephone to any network location you want, so you can make use of VoIP anywhere you have access to the Internet. You can take your VoIP hardware from one location to the other and with this you can enjoy the many advantages that VoIP brings you.

3. VoIP is easy to configure
VoIP can be totally configured through a web interface. Changing a telephone or placing new telephones is therefor very easy.

4. VoIP can be installed more easy and cheaper
You don't need to pull separate wires for a telephone connection anymore. The cables you use for the computer network can be used for your VoIP. With some VoIP hardware it is even possible to loop the network cable, with which a computer and telephone van make use of the same cable.

5. VoIP makes it cheaper to call
VoIP is approximately 50% and a maximum of 80% cheaper then a regular telephone provider. Furthermore VoIP users call for free to each other on the network of Tooway4you.

6. VoIP has the future
VoIP is the telecom technique which will be used in the future. More and more people change to VoIP. Does your telephone equipment needs to be changed, are you moving houses or are you searching for a new telecom solution, then VoIP will be the best choice. VoIP has the future!
