Tooway KU:
Until now Tooway KU was only offered through the EUROBIRD ™ 3 satellite which is positioned at 33° east. To assure the capacity and quality of the current Internet service by Tooway an additional satellite is being used since February 2011, the ATLANTIC BIRD ™ 1 satellite which is positioned at 12.5° West. Both satellites provides the same broadband Internet service with download speeds up to 3.6 Mbps and upload speeds of 384 Kbps. Both satellites are also using the same hardware and activation procedure. The area Eurobird ™ 3 satellite at 33° east covers is shown in the figure below. The red circle is spot A, the green circle is spot C and the yellow circle is spot D. Through these three different spots, Tooway4you offers the Tooway KU Internet services.

If you are situated only in spot C, a custom OMT (sending module) is needed. Inform your installer so he knows what OMT is needed. If you are situated only in spot A (red circle) of the EUROBIRD™ 3 satellite and not in an area where the red and green and / or yellow circles overlap, you should make use of the ATLANTIC BIRD ™ 1 satellite at 12.5° west.
This applies to countries such as Spain, Portugal, southern France and Italy. You or your installer need to point the dish on the ATLANTIC BIRD ™ 1 satellite at 12.5° west. The area ATLANTIC BIRD ™ 1 covers is shown in the figure below.

Tooway KA-SAT:
Tooway KA-SAT, positioned at 9° East, will cover the continent with 80 "spot beams", concentrated signals each covering an area of a few hundred miles. While traditional satellite signals covers an entire continent or a large part of it simultaneously, the spot beams are able to efficiently reuse frequencies in different regions without interference. Each spot beam has a capacity of 900 Mbps, which is distributed among the users. The area Tooway KA-SAT will cover is shown in the figure below.
